Well, the night was a hit! The first Annual "Dining with the Dogs" held at the Mesa/Phoenix Hilton was a fantastic, fun and successful event!
Mingus Manor brought along some of their very special guests, some fur friends who reside with Karen Scherer, owner and founder of Mingus Manor.
While they paraded around in their tuxedo collars and graciously allowed everyone to pet them, they seemed quite at ease with all the action!

Dinner and Desserts were Delicious!
The Staff at Mesa/Phoenix Hilton out did themselves!

One of our own Az Pet Professionals

Angela Riservato, owner of FurbabiesDelectableDelights, Bid on two gorgeous Purple Paw Print, diamond encrusted charm necklaces and won them both! It was her and another bidder going at it all night, back and forth, out bidding one another until the other bidder had no choice but to back down as it was clear that Angela was not leaving without them! haha! You go Angela! The cost of those two necklace sets was a huge help to Mingus Manor and we know that was your intent the entire time! What a gracious donater you are!

Az Pet Professionals Donated a total of 4 Silent Auction Baskets and each one got a new home! Thanks to all of you for being so generous for such a great cause!

The Silent Auction Baskets were beautiful and even though I got outbid by a "under 15 yr old", for the "Doggie Princess Bed", it was all fun! I hope you enjoy it sweety, you deserve it for being so diligent! Seriously though, the night was fun as it could be!

Johnson Ranch Animal Clinic was one of the Sponsors of the night! One of our most highly recommended Veterinary Clinics!
Owner, Doctor Marc Schmidt and his associate, Doctor Kelly Bowers.

Thanks for your continued support Dr. Schmidt!

Some of the Az Pet Professionals that were able to attend were: me, Vetek Chic On Wheels and my husband Mike, David S. Cantor with David S. Cantor Photography and his wife Emily, Furbabies Delectable Delights, Angela and her husband John Riservato,
Sheila Iyengar, owner of Lotus Dog Training and Boarding and boyfriend Phil, Heather Clark owner of H & H Pet Services, Professional Pet Sitting and Boarding, and Carina Peltes, owner of Couture Clips Mobile Pet Grooming It was so good to see you all! Thanks for coming out and supporting Mingus Manor!

To those of you who had prior professional commitments, we missed you but understand that business does come first! Hope to see you soon!

I myself had a great time seeing everyone! It was good to see some of the Staff of Riggs Road Veterinary Clinic! I will be seeing them soon with my very own dog! Great Seeing you Kirsten and Kristen!

My very first client, Sherry Dryja and her husband Mike were also there with their Law Firm. It was great seeing you Sherry and Mike! You outdid yourself organizing this event! Sherry, I am sure Karen is so grateful to you! Hugs to Parka!

I also had the pleasure of meeting Sue Higbee who is hoping to become an Az Pet Professional next month! What a fantastic lady! She is the owner of Sue's Pet Friends, a professional Pet Sitting Service.

Thanks again to Mingus Manor, for all that you are doing for the Senior and Special Needs Pets! You are an Angel in so many ways Karen!

From all of the Az Pet Professionals!

Okay, we all live in Arizona because the weather is almost perfect, the sun is almost always shining, the golf courses are luscious, there are multiple and beautiful wide open spaces and endless hiking trails!

Surprisingly enough these are also places where some “not so delightful” inhabitants hang out in our state! You've heard the news this past week...... Snakes bites are on the rise!! Again!
Here are a few simple tips to help keep you safe.

If you hike:
 • Tap ahead of you with a walking stick before entering an area where you can't see your feet. Snakes will try to avoid you if given enough warning. • When hiking in an area known to have snakes, wear long pants and boots if possible
 • Consider purchasing a snake kit Avoid rock piles or tall green grass/bushes where snakes like to rest.

About 150 people in Arizona are bitten every year.
Some of Arizona’s rattlesnakes can also be lethal.

Scottsdale is notorious for having snakebites and s…

National Adopt a dog month

National Adopt a dog month  And National Adopt a Shelter dog month

Are you thinking about adopting a dog? Has the thought crossed your mind in the past few months? If so, that's great! This is the perfect month for you to get down to business and do just that!

You might be looking simply for a companion, maybe a hiking pal, a friend for your grandparents or parents, how about an agility hopeful, or just a happy, warm face to welcome you home each day? Then this might just be the perfect timing!

A dog that is on the "E-List" (to be euthanized) is commonly a dog that might have growled when captured or put into a kennel, but it doesn't necessarily mean they are aggressive.

They were SCARED.
