"Photographing animals is my passion" ~ Jill Flynn

I provide on-location Pet Photo Sessions in the Phoenix Metro area. All photo sessions are done in the client’s home or an agreed upon location. Animals feel safe and relaxed in their own home or a familiar environment. My goal is to connect with your pet and capture their spirit and that "special look" with beautiful light. Each photo session is unique and different, just like each pet. I like to be physically close to animals when I photograph them.

I love to talk and interact with them during a photo session. My philosophy is to create a safe and stress free environment and capture those special moments of your pets being themselves. I love capturing quiet moments. I use both natural light and studio lights. It's all about finding and creating beautiful light. Professional lighting is included in all photo sessions.

The typical photo session lasts about 1 1/2 hours. Approximately two weeks after the photo session, I will send you a link to your own private gallery where you can view your proofs on-line. All proofs are professionally processed and retouched.

I also work closely with animal welfare organizations and volunteer my services by photographing shelter and rescue animals. Many of these animals can be seen in the Pet Portrait Portfolio on my website and my blog. http://visualharmonyphotography.com/blog

If you are a non-profit animal welfare or rescue organization and need photographs taken of your rescued animals, please contact me and we'll get something scheduled ASAP. I set aside several days every month to take photographs of shelter animals and teach volunteers how to take photographs of animals.

My pack consists of two dogs and two cats – all rescues. I am a firm believer in adopting animals from shelters and rescue organizations. There are so many animals in need of homes. When I am not photographing pets, I teach an on-line Pet Photography Course for The Perfect Picture School of Photography, offer private photography instruction and create imagery for Getty and Corbis photo stock agencies. On occasion I offer Pet Photo Sessions at other locations around the U.S. and Canada.

When I do, this information will be posted on my blog. My work has been published commercially, in fine art magazines and private galleries. I love capturing the beauty of simplicity in all forms.

NATIONAL "ADOPT A SHELTER DOG" MONTH

SNAKES IN ARIZONA

Article written by Kim MacCrone-CVT

Okay, we all live in Arizona because the weather is almost perfect, the sun is almost always shining, the golf courses are luscious, there are multiple and beautiful wide open spaces and endless hiking trails!

Surprisingly enough these are also places where some “not so delightful” inhabitants hang out in our state! You've heard the news this past week...... Snakes bites are on the rise!! Again!
Here are a few simple tips to help keep you safe.

If you hike:
 • Tap ahead of you with a walking stick before entering an area where you can't see your feet. Snakes will try to avoid you if given enough warning. • When hiking in an area known to have snakes, wear long pants and boots if possible
 • Consider purchasing a snake kit Avoid rock piles or tall green grass/bushes where snakes like to rest.

About 150 people in Arizona are bitten every year.
Some of Arizona’s rattlesnakes can also be lethal.

Scottsdale is notorious for having snakebites and s…

Are you thinking about adopting a dog? Has the thought crossed your mind in the past few months? If so, that's great! This is the perfect month for you to get down to business and do just that!

You might be looking simply for a companion, maybe a hiking pal, a friend for your grandparents or parents, how about an agility hopeful, or just a happy, warm face to welcome you home each day? Then this might just be the perfect timing!

Across the valley there are numerous places that you can choose from to adopt a dog. Many Shelters are full and have weekend discounts so they can open up space for new dogs. Unfortunately some will be placed on the E-List almost immediately due to its breed, temperament or health.

A dog that is on the "E-List" (to be euthanized) is commonly a dog that might have growled when captured or put into a kennel, but it doesn't necessarily mean they are aggressive.

They were SCARED.
