Summer Heat can be tough on our animals!

It is important to remember a few things when it comes to keeping your pets safe in the summer, especially in your hot climates like Arizona!

First off, dogs do not sweat. Their only means to cooling off is by panting.

If panting does not reduce the body temperature he will develop Heat Stroke. The longer coat your dog has, the more heat it holds. You can clip your dog's hair coat short, but not too short as they can also get sun burn as well as it acts as an insulator.

The color of your dogs coat also has an impact on his ability to reflect the sun's rays. Black dogs of course, absorb more of the sun's rays than lighter colored coats
What triggers Heat Exhaustion?
·age and condition of pet (overweight, geriatric)

·hair coat
The older dog, the younger dog and the short muzzled (brachycephalic) are among the highest at risk.

Short muzzled dogs include the Boxer, the Boston Terrier, Bulldogs, Mastiffs, Pekingese, Shihtzus,…

I know this is a repeat but summer brings vacations so we wanted to help in any way we could by providing you with an article that offers some tips on flying with your dog. Happy Vacations!
Planning to fly with your dog? While air travel can be a quick way to get Fido from one place to another, you should know that every airline has different rules about transporting pets. You will need to make sure to contact your specific Airline weeks prior to travel for rules and regulations.

The following are a few Airlines that do allow pets to fly in the cabin.

·Us Airways

·Pet Airways

·Midwest Airways

·Jet Blue Airways

·Hawaiian Airlines

·Air Canada

It's recommend booking your flight early and if possible, fly direct, Non-Stop.

Have your pet carrier bought and ready (although with some airlines, such as Pet Airways, you do not need a carrier as they provide it for you.  Get your pet accustomed to the crate in the weeks or days prior to travel…

How to teach your kids to approach unfamiliar dogs safely

It is important for adults to teach children how to safely approach an unfamiliar dog and how to protect themselves if they come in contact with an unfriendly dog.

According to the Center of Disease Control, 4.5 million people are bitten by dogs each year, many of these involving children, with dog bite related injuries highest in 5-9 year olds. It is important to teach children how to approach dogs to keep children safe, to keep your pets happy, and to avoid becoming one of those statistics. Many dog bites happen at home with our own dogs. It does not mean a pet is mean or aggressive, often; the dog simply becomes over-stimulated by the activity around it or becomes annoyed with continual harassment.

Approaching familiar dogs:

Teach kids how to read dog’s body language. Dogs use body language to communicate with us how they feel. What they like, what they don’t like.
Friendly postures include: ·Ears forward

·Tail wagging and held u…

Hello!  My name is Sandy Aaron and I am the proud local owner and operator of Pet Butler. Our team continues to grow! We have expanded throughout the Valley and it is not rare that you see our trucks on the road every day!

What do we do? Pet Butler provides pet waste cleanup service to homes, apartment communities, HOAs, condos, townhomes, and dog parks in Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, Ahwatukee, South Phoenix and Central Phoenix.  We are strong supporters of Pet Rescue by way of service volunteering and financial support.  You can visit our table at many pet events all year around, most notable in the East Valley is the ever popular Woof Stock in October and the Gilbert Dog Days  just to point out a couple. After a 20-year career as a Computer Support Administrator, I wanted to find an opportunity where I could work directly in and with the community.  I found Pet Butler and was immediately drawn to its values and core system.  The idea of working outdoors, being around animals, and provid…
