HALLOWEEN PET SAFETY TIPS

Halloween is almost here! Make sure to prepare if you have pets. Halloween should be a fun time, but occasionally it turns out bad if you forget to take some precautions. Please be familiar with the following Safety Tips. It’s not too early to start remembering these! 


Don't leave your pet out in the yard on Halloween: There are plenty of stories of vicious pranksters who have teased, injured, stolen, even killed pets on this night. Trick-or-treat candies are not for pets: Chocolate is poisonous to a lot of animals, and tin foil and cellophane candy wrappers can be hazardous if swallowed. Be careful of pets around a lit pumpkin: Pets may knock it over and cause a fire. Curious kittens especially run the risk of getting burned. Don't dress the dog in costume unless you know he loves it. Otherwise, it puts a lot of stress on the animal. If you do dress up your dog, make sure the costume isn't constricting, annoying or unsafe. Be careful…

October 15th-21st is National Vet Tech WeekHave you hugged your vet tech today?  As a pet sitter in Mesa, AZ  I am very thankful for all the vet techs we have the honor of working with on a regular basis.  It is important for us to get to know our client's veterinary staff.  This week is as good as any to show our appreciation to our very important vet techs!  Here is what we did to appreciate our friends at Johnson Ranch Animal Clinic and other clinics around the east valley:

I made a surprise visit to the staff at Johnson Ranch Animal Clinic and gave them all custom cupcakes.  I heard through the grapevine that they LOVED anything chocolate, so I made sure all the cupcakes were made with chocolate cake.  I personally thanked them for all their hard work and of course hugs were given.
Veterinary technicians have a very difficult job.  Many times only seeing our pets when they are in distress. I was talking to one technician that has never dreaded coming into the office.  I asked, …
