VISUAL HARMONY PHOTOGRAPHY-FEATURED PET EXPERT

"Photographing animals is my passion" ~ Jill Flynn

I provide on-location Pet Photo Sessions in the Phoenix Metro Area. All photo sessions are done in the client’s home or an agreed upon location. Animals feel safe and relaxed in their own home or a familiar environment. My goal is to connect with your pet and capture their spirit and that "special look" with beautiful light.

FRIDAY

Each photo session is unique and different, just like each pet. I like to be physically close to animals when I photograph them. I love to talk and interact with them during a photo session. My philosophy is to create a safe and stress free environment and capture those special moments of your pets being themselves. I love capturing quiet moments. I use both natural light and studio lights. It's all about finding and creating beautiful light. Professional lighting is included in all photo sessions.

I also work closely with animal welfare organizations and donate my services by photographing shelter and rescue animals.

If you are a non-profit animal welfare or rescue organization and need photographs taken of your rescued animals, please contact me and we'll get something scheduled as soon as possible. I set aside several days every month to take photographs of shelter animals and teach volunteers how to take photographs of animals.

In addition to photographing pets, I serve as the Education Director for HeARTs Speak (a non-profit international organization of artists helping animals), teach photography and create imagery for Getty and Corbis photostock agencies.

My imagery has been used by the pet care industry and veterinary hospitals, on book covers, in fine art magazines and private galleries.

PET EXPERT TIP OF THE DAY

8 THINGS YOU CAN DO TO KEEP YOUR DOG SAFE IN THE SUMMER
  1. Never, ever leave your dog in the car;
  2. Make sure your dog has unlimited access to fresh water;
  3. Make sure your dog has access to shade when outside;
  4. Take walks during the cooler hours of the day;
  5. When walking, try to stay off of hot surfaces (like asphalt) because it can burn your dog's paws;
  6. If you think it's hot outside, it's even hotter for your pet – make sure your pet has a means of cooling off;
  7. Keep your dog free of external parasites (fleas, ticks) and heartworms – consult your veterinarian about the best product for your pet;
  8. Consider clipping or shaving dogs with long coats, and apply sunscreen to your dog's skin if she or he has a thin coat.

PET EXPERT TIP OF THE DAY!

Household pet tip for dogs from Blue Ribbon K9 Academy:

Train your dog to use a pet door by putting a dab of butter on the bottom edge of the flap. Have another person hold the dog on the side with the butter and you stand on the other side with treats. Your dog will lick the bottom of the flap, pushing it open while you encourage it through and offering treats. Happy Training!
